I picked up an EK Bowie the other day but the blade has no stamping, the sheath says EK with the address. The knife seems to be a quality blade, handle was paracord wrapped I put a hand fit oak handle, (used 1/8" copper tubing to attach the handles)I was wondering if this was a knock off or a legit EK?

where did you get it and are there other handle materials available? BTW I made the mistake of asking about the new Ek's at the other forum they are a little testy about the subject over there.

Seems like there's more than one company claiming to be the real EK.

Was the blade black? I recall that they made a few unmarked knives with the black finish and called them the steath or something. I have a bowie and dagger like that, all black with no blade markings.

I have not heard of any of the bead blast or polished blades being unmarked. Someone could have buffed the markings off if it was the polished kind.

It has what appears to have a black epoxy coating on the entire knife, except the cutting edge.

It seems to be a well made blade. I abuse the heck out of it yet it maintains a long lasting edge, and when it does need touching up it doesn't require hours on a hone. :)
