This was one of my first custom folders. I liked the persian style blade. Scary sharp.

Yesss....

My first custom was also an Elishewitz... I still have it....

Its a tanto... very simple compared to his current stuff...

But awesome fit and finish... sharp as anything...

What steel did he use in his early blades? Any idea?

No sorry I don't. Maybe someone will see this post and let us know. You are correct in the fit and finish. You should post yours too.

i have two folders and a fixed from him.

one folder is cpm-440v and the other two are of ATS-34

he has some of the best fit and finish that i have seen. i'm talking meticoulous here. he took the time to satin finish the blades then bead blasted them. most makers who coated their blades never bothered polishing them first.

For the most part, he used ATS-34 on his early stuff. He did use other steels on request, I too have an M-6 out of 440V. Later he started using 154cm, then started using RWL34 and now uses CPM154. He also uses A few of the more well known makers for his damascus.
