I have a cq7 that has been one of my edc's for a few years. The blade seems to open and close very rough. I have tried lubricants and adjusting the screw. Should I take it apart and clean it ? Any help appreciated.

You might want to try to get a can of that compressed air that you use to clean electronics with. Give the pivot a few blasts and see if that clears anything out. You might have some grit in there causing the action to become rough. Might also want to try holding the knife under running water as well. If all else fails, contact Emerson Knives and they more likely will ask you to send the knife back for warranty repair.

Sure! No biggie. It could probably use it and isn't hard to put back together. While you're at it, you might take some 1500 grit sandpaper to the area of the blade around the pivot.
