I was wondering if I could get some feedback regarding the value of a Emerson/Neeley Specwar fixed blade. The multi purpose sheath says 94012/Black Specwar; it has never been carried or used. It has a beautiful black finish and the blade also reads "San Juan Mountains Timberline Colorado".

Can someone tell me how collectable this knife is and its approximate value? I bought it at a gun show around 3-4 years ago and it is brand new as I said. Thanks !

Hi Contender

The knife you have is/was manufactured by Timberline knives. Not sure when, but Timberline was bought by Gatco (The people that make the sharpeners). I think that the knife was basically designed by Ernest Emerson, and Vaughn Neely, who worked for Timberline, had input on it. You have one with a titanium carbonitride coating. I used to own a bead blasted one that I bought for $140, and I have seen them listed for as high as $300. I would say that $150 would be a good estimate of a value. As far as being collectable, Who knows? If it's something that someone likes and wants to hang on to it, then I would say that it's collectable

Hope this helps.

thanks for the info BH. If anyone is interested, I would sell it for the $150 plus shipping. I am firm on that price!!

Just to let you know, Timberline has stopped production of the SpecWar. I found this out when I sent mine back to be sharpened and was told by the woman working there that I better insure it because they aren't making them anymore. Don't know if you might want to keep it now but I thought I'd let you know.

Emerson_Girl,

The Timberline Specwar is no longer made. The only way to get one would be to search lots of knife shops in hope or buy one secondhand.

The other option would be to buy a genuine Emerson fixed blade!

Ed
