Entrek knives, comments?

On page 65 of the November issue of Tactical Knives magazine (just came out on the newsstand), there is an ad for Entrek knives. I called (701-775-8216) and spoke with the owner, Ray Ennis. I think it is a one man operation but I'm not sure. Anways, Ray was very nice and I ordered the knife shown in the ad. I too am not thrilled with 440C so he said he would make it in O1. He said he could do it in about four weeks.

I ordered JAG about month ago and it is on its way. It does not take that long but I live in Europe and a friend of mine is taking the knife for me. I will let you know as soon as I get it - if you are still interested.

Hi Roger,

Ray has been around for a long time and makes a good knife. He is also a great guy.

440C will be a draw back should you try and resell the knife. With all the new "super" steels on the horizon, it will be difficult to get rid of a knife with ATS-34 5 years from now.

As for O-1, I think the beating that Mad Dog has taken on this forum and other gatherings around the country should sway you away from a steel that may no longer have a place in custom knives. Especially with 3V now becoming available.

Im sure Ray can work ATS-34, tell him I said hi.

I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.

Thanks for the replies guys, I'm going to take a closer look at his items, and hopefully get a catalog soon...

I really shouldn't though, because i have 3 months to save disposable income before the NY show rolls into town. =)
