I don't see many posts about these kits. I have typically built my own from scratch, but these look interesting and seem to be filled with quality components.

Does anyone own one? Are you happy with it? Are they worth the money?

I have (had?...I've broken it down into other kits and used some items)) the standard kit which is 95% of the E&E kit and used it as a basis for my other kits. It is a great stand alone kit or a basis for two or even more kits that you compile yourself like I did.

I have the Advanced E&E Kit, one for Wifey and one for me, actually. I have no complaints. Anyone "into" this stuff is going to rape, rob and pillage from various kits until they have tweaked their own kit(s) to be what they want.

I think there are three top pocket survival kits right now. The RAT Advanced E&E Kit is more geared towards, well E&E! Then there is the Penrith Combat Survival Kit in a tobacco tin, highly recommended item! Then there is Doug Ritter's Pocket Survival Pak available through Aeromedix and it's excellent as well.

The Doug Ritter kit slightly modified is about as good as it gets for a store bought pocket kit. My next kit is going to be the ESEE comprehensive kit with the ESEE-6 knife. I am going to build my families disaster kit around that. Something about a kit built around a serious survival knife is really appealing.

I have the advanced ESEE survival kit. It's worth every penny and all the items included are top of the line.
