Has anyone here etched a scene or design into a blade?
David Boyes book "Step by Step Knifemaking" shows how it is done and gives the formula for Aqua Regia. Is there a different formula with more accesable chemicals? The muriatic acid i can get at a pool supply store but the nitric acid i can't find. Any suggestions or tips would be apprectiated.
BTW David Boye's book is a gold mine of info for the beginner. Well illustrated with line drawings and photos. The details are in clear simple language. I got mine cheap on e-bay.
