find out you really DIDN'T want and need it and wonder why you ever thought you wanted it in the first place?

:footinmou

ohh, hell yeah, I do that all the time. Not just knives either, do it with all kindsa tools.

I almost bought a BM 705, then... something else, I forget what. They both would have turned out that way.

Edit! one time I bought a CRKT (eeew) M16. Hated it, Traded for some other CRKT. Hated it, bought a Benchmade 722s. It's become my EDC.

I think most of us do it, that's what fuels the sale/trade forums. Speaking of which, for some reason I bought this Lone Wolf T2 Cocobolo and now... :)

Ya know... lots of people have a problem with Cold Steel including myself, but I haven't heard anything bad about the Voyagers from them. I wouldn't mind one myself, but I just can't get over being burned in the past. I say go for it, you can always sell it to me if you don't like it, but of course you'll give me 75% off right? :D

Buy it for as cheap as you can so you can at least make your money back when you sell it. Check out the pass around thread, or walk into your local knife shop and ask to handle the model you are looking for. I just recently bought several Schrades that were on clearance at Wal Mart, one of them was an Xtimer, I don't like it, but I got a great deal, so I won't feel bad about not getting full retail for it. I made a mistake buying my Griptilian, my small M21, my M16-13Z (the handle feels like ****!), I am pissed that I paid 70 bucks for my Montana Gentleman and sold it for 35 bucks! Most of my CRKTs are up on eBay, but with all of those dissatisfied purchases, I got a lot more that I actually enjoyed. If you can overcome the impulse buy, you've won half the battle (GI Joe cartoon theme plays :D)

CORRECTION:

KNOWING is half the battle. (NOW the G.I. Joe theme song plays!)

CUDA Maxx.

I am looking for the knives below, this is just a small portion of my want list

Cold Steel Voyager X2 (selling my large Voyager to pay part of the cost)

CRKT Serengeti Hunter (when I get it, after several months I will probably get over the cool factor, I don't hunt because I'm too lazy to stalk game and too much of a puss to sit in a tree stand, so I really see no reason to buy this knife, but it looks cool)

Kershaw Clad Blade (I'm basing this purchase on a blurry photograph posted on these boards)

Lone Wolf Harsey Tactical (I have no money for this knife right now)

SOG Twitch XL (I have the I and II, why do I need the XL, because it looks cool)

Spyderco Police (I already have a big folder, the Endura)

Victorinox Ranger (I already have a Swiss Champ, why get the Ranger)

You should ask for the pros and cons on these knives. Undoubtedly, people will post how bad CS is, how good Spyderco is, why don't I have a Benchmade or Sebenza on my want list. You will get so many opinions and tales of terror and joy about knives, that you will be able to make an educated guess as to whether or not you want the knife. I wish I had found this site sooner, it has been invaluable to me, a large portion of my want list has been chopped in half, just from crossing designs off the list. Just either handle the knife in question at the store, or listen to the asylum, myself included, on this board :p

yeah, bought a Buck Strider, ...just didn't work for me for some reason, ...then replaced it with a Swamp Rat-Rat Trap, been my EDC ever since.

Yes. And then you figure what the heck, it's not like you just bought yourself 10 pairs of shoes :D

It doesn't make me a woman that I have two dog eared pairs of Nike trail running shoes for walking, a pair of dog eared Nike ACG boots for yard work, two pair of Nike ACG hiking boots for hiking, an old pair of Airwalk Trenchlands for the boat and a pair of Doc Martens oxfords for work, does it? OMG! I gotta get to www.danni.com real fast! Excuse me...

BTW, do not open that site at work!

That site should be for the internet juggie sensation Danni Ashe, who knows with all of the domain names being traded so much these days.
