Explain to me the RAT/ESEE thing. Izula says RAT?

Ok so I have no clue what's going on with the ESEE/RAT stuff. I just ordered 2 ESEE izulas yet they say RAT cutlery on the knives? What gives?

The company changed it's name from RAT to ESEE. There is still back stock with the RAT name on it. So when you order it might come with a RAT logo or an ESEE logo depending on when it was manufactured.

Also, depending on where you ordered from, they may still use older pictures of the knives, but you will in fact receive the newer models. My first order from knifeworks gave me a RAT RC-4, but an ESEE Izula, even though at the time both of them were pictured as RAT.

Just know they are the same thing, just that there was a name change along the way. Both the old and new are the same great quality, and both are no BS warranty covered.

most dealers are shipping the last of the RC stuff to make room for the ESEE marked items

Ah ok. My two izulas came from knifecenter so it's possible they have some old stock.

Anyway, I wouldn't care if it said nothing on the knives - I love esee stuff. For some reason I just can't stop ordering these knives. I'm looking to have a 5 and a junglas by next week. :)

What part of bama are you from? There is a dealer in Birmingham that carries most of our line if you want to pick 'em up before buying.

Really? I'd love to be able to pick them up in a store.

I live in Tuscaloosa. I'm 50 minutes from B-Ham so I'll definitely make a trip over there. What's the name of this place?

So, you're in Tuscalossa. One of my favorite rock and roll bands is based there. Good friends of mine. Band's name is Mother Pandora.

Thanks for helping me out.

I've only lived here for a couple of years for school, so I haven't heard of mother pandora yet. I'm sure I would have by now if I spent time in the bars, but since I live with my fiancée and I'm the outdoorsy type I don't party much. It's all good though!

Do you have any dealers around the Cleveland Ohio area?

I'd love to feel out the 4 before I pull the trigger. Who knows, maybe I'd like the 3 better, but will never know unless I gets some hands on.

Thanks

First off, welcome to the madness.
I ordered an "ESEE-4" from Dale@tkc a few months back. What i got was a RC-4. Its only the print thats different, as long as it says "Rowen" on the other side, its all good.
