Well, I just picked up this Schatt english jack, and I have to show it off. Unlike TLC, I can't take a picture of just ONE, so some of it's new kin are in there to keep it company. The Jack is one well built knife.

Gotta agree with ya there Zip7.
I love that Deluxe English Jack. those long blades & ATS-34 steel. It is a little long for every day pocket carrying, but when I know I'm going to need a "knife" that is the one that goes.
I ended up with 2 of these, 1 to use & 1 put away.

Excellent knives & photography. While we are on the subject, any suggestions for a single blade(stainless)Barlow of high quality?

I like this Schatt & Morgan.

LIMITED EDITION SERIES XI CARVED PEACH BONE HANDLE SINGLE BLADE BARLOW. 3 1/2" CLOSED. 420HC STAINLESS STEEL SPEAR BLADE. MANUFACTURED IN 2001. MINT CONDITION WITH BOX.

They make some nice ones.

Nice group, Zip!
And I agree with thawk, S&M signature-bolster Barlows are pretty animals!!

Yes the Big Jack is not for whittling on toothpicks, but I can't wait till this summer so I can whup it out and slice a watermelon in half with it to amaze my friends.

Thawk, that's more or less what I'm after but perhaps bone or wood scales, excellent looking finish on that knife, any e-bay connexions I can check out for this kind of model? Thank you.

That english jack is sweeeeeet,i wanted one so bad but i couldn't afford it then and now they are discontinued.I did however pick up the mountain man in this same series and i love it,but i can't bring myself to use it.Also i have the exact same moore maker in buffalo horn and one in golden honey bone with a liner lock. How do you like yours and do you ever use them? Those are some sweet knives you have their.

I like that Moore Maker, but I have not really used it - haven't had it too long. It's less pocket friendly than that jack is. I generally pack an old case folding hunter when we go off to the camp, and I figure I will pack that one next time instead. I like the little sheath it comes with.

The red trapper in that picture is a brand new kissing cranes - pretty inexpensive. I bought it because I have a black one just like it that I carry and use a lot. It's a good value knife.

I have two moore makers on the way - one is an even end trapper and the other a moose. Their moose looks like a sowbelly trapper with the blades on opposite ends. I tend to accumulate out of the ordinary trappers, not really on purpose, but because I can hardly ever find, much less afford the one I really want - which is a 1965-1969 case stag handle one (it's what my Dad carried when I was a kid). So I get on there looking for one, and I generally find about one, and 29 wealthy people want it way more than me, so I end up seeing a good deal on another cool looking trapper, and so I have a large variety of not-your-everyday-trappers.

In fact I bought that jack because.. I had been eyeing it... I got a fairly good deal on that one, and it sorta resembles a trapper. I think of it as a city slicker's trapper... well suited for skinning those annoying clamshell packages.
