Is there a fake kershaw thread?

I was recently at local flea market. This one vendor had a pretty solid knife that I thought bout buying, he was asking 15 bucks and it was marked Kershaw. But I didnr reconize it from other Kershaws I know off. It had a flipper and was assited and had clip point blade. Was all black.

Thing that really turned me off from it was that this same vendor had one of the very famous Spydie fakes.

Rog. Just wondering. I don't recall seeing many clip-pointed Kershaws other than that one. Which is why it is perhaps my favorite.

Yeah, the more I think bout it, the more sure I am that it was fake. Kinda ashame though, cause for what it was, I did handle it. It was pretty solid, specially for that price range.

the big problem with fakes, even the really convincing ones, is that there's absolutely no way to know if they use good steel, or are even heat treated

and that's before you even consider the ethics of the situation.

Unfortunately, the fakes are getting good enough to fool even someone who knows what they're looking for

I spotted a few other easy fakes for other brands. But thus "Kershaw" was really convincing. I may go ahead and try this weekend to go back see if I can find more of these and snap a cell pic or two at least.
