Hope all you Dad's had a great Father's Day. Don't post a lot here since ya'll are the folks I'm learning from but wanted to share this..
Been collecting Buck's last couple years and of course always have one or two on me so my daughters associate any knife w/ Buck. So my collection has now included two extra of any I like so I can pass along to them (now 5 and 6) or their husbands (that's how I got into Bucks, my father-in-law passing a 184 and 70's vintage 110).
Last year for our anniversary I bought my wife the Rosewood kitchen set as part of her gifts. Turns out she bought me a set of the steak knives and arranged to have them signed. Since then we've always used the signed ones for special dinners/holidays in our home.
For father's day one of the gifts from my daughters was a display case for some more of my nicer ones (thanks Web Specials!). As we were getting ready for church they asked me which "nice one" I would "wear" since it was a special day (chose my 532 Giraffe and a Chairman 301 marked 302..again thanks Web Specials!).
So last night for dinner I had grilled some steaks. As we're eating my oldest daughter (just turned 6) asks when she can use her own steak knife so I just pass her mine. She lit up! You could tell she was excited to be using a real knife, it was a Buck like Dad's and it was one of the "special" ones that is signed. Just turned out that way but couldn't planned a better knife or occasion for her to use her first steak knife at the table!
So, gonna add that to her collection of pass me downs and was just a very special "passing of the torch" into Buck and a great addition to my Father's Day.
Hope ya'll had a great Father's Day as well.
