Recently I stripped a Ratweiler and I really liked the rough look it had after just a little sanding but some hogs in the know suggested that the decarb would rust badly if I looked at it funny so I had an idea. Blast all the decarb off it, darken the steel, then sand it again to get a similar look. Well, here's how it came out.

    Original sanded decarb

    Decarb completely removed.

    Final, sanded "Faux-carb" look

Thanks fellas. My favorite part about it is that I think it will look even better after a few good beatings.

Did you go with a vinegar bath to darken the steel?
