Here is an order I just finished.

The 6" blade is made of just over 10,000 layers of 1080 and 15N20 in a "W" Feather Pattern. The fittings are also made of "W" Feather Pattern Damascus. This is the first hunter I've made that has ivory, damascus fittings and a frame/case handle. The handle is made of interior fossil mammoth ivory. The overall length is 11 1/8 " long.

Tell me what you think.

Thanks for looking.

Excellent. A little shorter guard would appeal to me more, but I think this is one heck of a good looking knife.

Another beauty and superbly executed feather pattern. Your handles have come so far in the last dozen or so knives you have shared.

I agree with Keith though in that the guard tang could be reduced by about 1/8".

Nice photos as well. Keep up the good work.

You posted this outstanding piece here right after you finished it, however I doubt many have seen this photo.
Coop captured it masterfully in my opinion. It really demonstrates your high degree of fit & finish.

Again, hope you don't mind my commingling it in this thread.

sweet. as always:thumbup:

Thanks for the complements!!!

Kevin thanks for posting the photo of Explosive Fighter!!!

Thanks for the constructive Keith and Kevin, I will keep the guard length in mind on the next hunter and try to make it a little shorter.

Precocious brat!!!!! But seriously........superb work!!:thumbup::D

Big hunter, big guard. I like it. Once again, your damascus work inspires. Great work, Kyle.

The damascus is outstanding. I also thought the guard was just a bit too long from an aesthetic perspective.

The 'Explosive Fighter' is awesome.

Very nice W pattern.
Can you give us a shot of the middle to the tip of the blade?

Yes I will, I won't have time to take another photo until tonight thought. I took a couple photos like the one you requested but my shutter speed was set too slow and they came out fuzzy, I will try again tonight.

Thanks for the complements everyone!!!

Absolutely outstanding! I agree on a fractionally shorter guard, but I don't mind the look as is at all. That ivory is as beautiful as can be. I did get the chance to look over the piece that Murray picked up from you at Chicago. I have liked everything I have seen on the forums, but you never really know until you get a maker's work in your own hands. Colour me VERY impressed.

Hey Kyle,

Knife looks great. Handle material and shape are top notch. At first I thought the guard was just a bit too long but after looking at it a few times it has grown on me. I really like it as it is. Damascus is stunning.

Kevin, Thanks for posting the Coop pic of Explosive Fighter. I managed to land that knife from Kyle and it is a real beauty. Number 46 knife for Kyle and the 46th knife in my collection...freaky but cool!

Excellent. A little shorter guard would appeal to me more, but I think this is one heck of a good looking knife.
