Canadian Tire has just massively expanded there line-up of Buck Knives! I was just browsing the website and a ton of new models came up. I wasn't sure if it was accurate or not so I called my local store and the guy is putting them on the shelf right now! I dont know how much I can say without getting in trouble but ill be short, CSAR, Lux, Vantage, Force, Folding Ergo.... I am going.... right now...

Bye

I had a lenghty discussion about buck knives with our locally owned and operated Canadian Tire,I suggested he lose the knock offs and carry just the genuine buck knives, and he listened by golly. They now have a super selection of buck knives, and its about time. The other local hardware store i had convinced about the Buck brand, had a huge order from buck, which they sold like hotcakes, and never re-ordered a thing from buck again, and people still got there asking .very lazy bunch at that store.

Do they have Canadian Tire in Vancouver, B.C. ? I'll be going there soon (just across the border from me). It'd be interesting to see what they carry, the prices...

I thought Canadians spell it "tyre". Is Canadian Tire a hardware store or is it like the American Les Schwab tire service?

So what does a stock 110 or 112 cost way up there in the provinces?

(?)

$59.99 at Can. Tire apparently. They sure have gone up since my last one. You can often get 110's much cheaper in hardware stores etc.

The Canadian Tire store of my youth was like a modern hardware store that sold just about everything. From guns to fishing supplies, bicycles, auto parts, you name it. It was a comfortable and friendly place with decent prices. The Can Tire that I see today is a cold corporate robot with 17 year old clueless kids running around as staff. Now they keep many tools behind glass and the staff carry them up to the till while you trail behind like a kid. Corporate policy to avoid theft you see. I'll check out the new knife brands but Buck was about all I ever bought from there. When something stays trusted and true throughout your life, you tend to stick with it.

I miss those old stores, we had them too, the companies were different, but that local friendly atmosphere that drew you back to the store is missing in the big boxes of today.

Crappy tire as we call it,wants 59.99 plus %15 sales tax, walmart next door wants $48.99 for the same knife.LOL

I know, and Bass pro wants $39 for the same 110, The guys in the states get them on clearance for $17 and they think they will grab a better deal up here. I miss my old Canadian tire where you didn't need a shirt and you could bring your dog, what can you do? I have been bugging the guys at the hunting counters of every CT within 30 km of my house. From what I am told they got 2 of most of the models sent to them, once those sell it will be up to the store managers if the want to order more. None of the prices are great, somewhere around the MSRP on Bucks website, but CT is known for sales...

I picked up a 110 from CT today. Sheath is supposed to be leather but really gives off a bad pleather vibe. Anyone else had this experience with a recent 110 sheath?

I picked up one of the black leather sheaths a little while ago, while its not the quality of 10 years ago I am pretty sure its leather. I think it is a little over finished, if that makes any sense. I does feel like plastic, I try to think of it like a new folder, you want it to be stiff in the beginning so that it will work in to where you want it. If you go to Wal-mart the 110 in the blister pack have the black leather sheath and the ones in the box's have the nylon sheath, at my store anyway.

More models keep showing up, ive seen the CSAR-T in both a fixed blade and a folder $150, a Vantage force pro with half serrated blade $99? c'mon sale.

It's the smell more than anything that says non-leather.

The 119BR I picked up last week has a killer sheath. You just have to be in the same room as it and you know there's some leather going on. The 110? Smells like Walmart.

I miss the old Canadian tire that used to sell guns! Now its just air-guns, air-soft, sling shots and ammo!
However as the original poster said they have recently expanded their knife selection so thats good.

Well,I don;t know about your town, but my local canadian tire is opening up a hunting pro shop, archery lanes, bows, firearms, knives etc,.I've already been advising them of the Buck products i'd like to see them carry as they will sell very well there.I can't wait!

Maybe they do like Wal-Mart does in the States.

Guns and stuff in the more rural areas (sometimes, at least).

Bikes, fishing rods and tennis rackets in the more urban areas.

Well there are three Canadian tires within 20 minutes driving distance of here and sadly none currently sell firearms.
Hopefully their newly expanded knife selection is a precursor to them maybe getting back into the firearm end of things!

The gun registry is supposed to be done away with,I thinkthat may be why they are planning on selling firearms again.I know they will be carrying a lot more Buck knives at my local store,I've showed the store owner the Cabelas book with the different types of Bucks that he needs to carry.LOL
