This is a new sheath for my Active Duty. I tried something new – filework on leather edge. I like it. What do you think?

Greetings, Samek

I like it!! Looks very cool.....did you do it by hand, or did you use a rotary tool?

I REALLY like it at some distance. Up close , not so much, because of the removal of the top grain and the exposure of the flesh side. You did a heck of a good job on the finish, but I don't know of any way to finish flesh in grooves so it really matches up with the top grain. Even at that I may give your great idea a try one of these days. Thanks.

Innovation!!! I love it! Great idea. I can see it refined and polished but I think it particularly looks good on this sheath. The "used" look of this sheath is a perfect match.
Well done!

Samek, looks good, I like it. I make a sheath about every five years, but I have a new knife that needs one, I'll try this if you don't mind us copying your idea. I have a rotary tool, I'm also thinking a chainsaw file might work.

That is a fine looking sheath!! I really like the file work you have done. Nice job!

Very nice looking, and well thought out!

They say copying is the highest form of flattery and I, for one, certainly plan to copy this idea for my own sheaths!

I've used a very thin, new and sharp chainsaw file and sandpaper in the end.

That looks awesome! :eek::thumbup:
The file work is a cool idea. I'm wondering if a rotary tool with a bit of stainless rod stock the diameter of the chainsaw file would buff down the fibers inside the cuts. Could be a use for old bits that have worn out stones. Sort of a power bone folder...
