finally got an izula

My gf got me an izula for my b-day yesterday. She got me the black one with the kit. I've been wanting one for a long time and finally got it. It's one of those knives I just didn't want to buy for myself cause I usually just buy folders. I'm very impressed. It came very sharp but it could use a little stropping.

I used it at work today (electrician) and it performed really well. Great for stripping #6 and larger wire. I plan on using it this fall for deer and antelope season.

Tonight I think I'll practice wrapping it but I probably will end up buying scales. Does anyone make full length ones? I don't need the hole on the end exposed.

I've already decided I need the RC 3 next, but I'll have to buy that myself. Might as well get used to me around here I think.
 
Yep, same here. Nice my girlfriend supports my blade habit too. I got her a pink Izula, she got me a black Izula. She insists I get blue TKC grips for my 4 though. Oh well. 'Least I didn't have to wrap my Izula in blue paracord, OD does fine.
 
update : just got it wrapped and stropped and she's screamin sharp now. Push cuts newspaper but it hangs up on the blade coating a little.
 
ha ha funny you should say that. I've already been bit. Scratched my leg a little while testing sharpness. I've been told I'm starting to look like a lepur with the bald patches on my arms from testing, now I use thigh hair.

i totally agree, my arm and leg hair are almost gone testing out sharpness

also, you ARE very lucky to have a gf that supports your knife habit, mine doesn't:(
 
Have you been bitten yet? The Izula bit me the first time I used it to open a box..
