The UPS guy dropped off something interesting today. Because of a completely biased opinion I am not going to be reviewing this one, not here anyway. However since it was designed for the "wilderness".....and assuming all things are equal here, I am going to post a few glamour pics and say nothing other than I may be regretting the second finger groove. However it was supposed to be geared toward "extreme survival" in a wilderness environment and I added that groove with the thought of a more secure grip in adverse conditions...I'll have to try the adverse conditions later to know for sure if I'll be getting the dremel out or not.

LOL, look at the design logo on the side of the blade and then look at my avatar ;)

This might answer your question......

Looks good

Thanks Caine

Well, finally got your blade :)

Looks good, not the biggest fan of recurves, but this one looks cool, at the least. Perhaps I will take a look at one sometime. :D

Thats fantastic mate,

Looks like a solid performer.

Thanks, I can't wait to get it out and see how I did :) .

Yep, finally lol...it's been almost a year.

I know re curves are not for everyone but they do function well in certain applications. And since the thought was to be able to sharpen in the wilderness with a stone if needs be (I've never found a square flat stone in nature) I thought it would work out ok.

Hey, do you perfer recurves?

Not for all applications but definitely for some.

Wow, Mist, that looks really, really nice! Congratulations, buddy. I'm not big on sharpening recurves usually, but that looks pretty good. Now about that second finger groove...

Thanks Bob, I know how a lot of people feel about re-curves but I did have a reason for it. It did fill a void (in my opinion) in the "Extreme Survival" line up, and I tried to keep it manageable

Now about that second finger groove...

I already know...it is better with gloves on though. In hind-sight I would leave it off, but we live and learn right? I designed it with the thoughts that it would be far easier to remove an unwanted protrusion than to add one in if wanted.

Looks like a good blade to me. Those hairs are looking mighty dubious though. You run out arm hair and start shaving your chest now ?? :D :D

I bet that recurve gives a nice sweet spot for chopping.

I was only joshin' about the second finger groove, since you'd already mentioned it. I don't even mind the recurve on that one since it's only a little recurve. All in all, I'd have to say that it's a good looking knife. Shucks, ah'd be int'rested in tryin' one m'ownsef.

I like it! When and where can we get one???

Sorry, can't answer that. One infraction for "deal spotting" in two years is enough :)

Thanks Ken. Sort of...it's actually from the outside of my left forearm, and yes it was an interesting undertaking...lost a little skin in the process, next time I may opt for the chest :)

Thanks, that was part of the point of the blade's shape...good chopping ability but in a small (relatively...to me anyway) package

Hmmm. You realize we don't stand on ceremony ... much ... around here, right?

Looks like a good design to me, "wherever it came from.":D;)

I'd certainly enjoy hearing what you think of it, now.

Well...it was made pretty clear to me that I shouldn't review it here *shruggs*

Thanks, I'm glad you like the looks of it.

Right on , bro!!!!

I'm so happy for you, man...... One of many future design gigs, I suspect!
