i have a MOD Ladyhawk w/ double bead blast finish. i am concerned about rust and am considering having it finished another way. what would you suggest? having it blued? parkerized?

Equal parts of Beeswax, turpentine, Johnsons Paste wax, Linseed oil and a dash of Japan drier. Heat in a double boiler, mix well, paint it heavy on the hawke, metal and wood. Let it dry for a few hours and buff. Do a couple of coats and rust is history. It also improves your grip on the wood. Pour the excess in a screw top jar for later use!

I just hope it doesn't eat his hawke up!:D
In all honesty, that is one of the most useful recipes I've ever found. I change it around for special things like adding acetone instead of turpentine to clean excess epoxy before it fully hardens or add a little paraffin to make it a little less grippy. ETC, ETC.

I didn't come up with the idea. Someone spilled the beans on the secret receipe on one of the blacksmith boards one night.

Duh...how big is a font Dave?
