For sale is a mint Ray Cover Sub-hilt fighter. Includes sheath by Ray. Ray no longer makes a lot of fixed blades and no sub-hilts, this one is about 13 years old but is in as Good Condition as it was when placed in safe. The blade is ATS-34, measures 6 3/4'' from Guard, Overall length is 12 3/8'' .I paid 750 for it, but will sell it at 500 plus 3% PP fees no reductions to come.

The entire time, it was kept in a safe, not stored in the sheath. The wood for the scales came from Jim Frey (Wild Woods) and was supplied by me to Ray - so there is nothing out there like this wood on any of Ray's knives. Ray made one of the nicest subhilts around. The only reason I sold it in the first place was that I and my brother made a large purchase from Ray 13 years before and put all the knives away - then took them out 13 years later and sold all of them. I kept one of each model, I loved them so much.

If there ever was a knife for sale at a bargain price, this is it. Two online dealers actually purchased the same knife from me, different Jim Frey wood, of course, also for $750 each, so that ought to tell you how good this knife is.

Is the guard and sub-hilt Nickel Silver or Stainless? I've seen Ray use both on his sub-hilts. I know Ray still makes several fixed blades a year, but very few sub-hilts.

Please send Betzner a PM, as he knows the knife much better than I do. I am really not good on metals. It looks like Nickel Silver since the finish has such a mirror finish. But that is opinion, not fact.
