Im trying to decide on my first Emerson, I've had a hard time narrowing it down to a few. The main two I am stuck between are the CQC-10 and Horseman. One has the thumb disk the other has Titanium liners/lock. I considered the larger version (CQC-11, CQC-8) of each but thought they might be to large for EDC. I was hoping to get some input on the two knives, so that I could make a decision. Thanks TDK

If you are trying to stay with smaller Emersons you really have three choices----

The Horseman

CQC-14

Mini CQC-7

All are winners. I love the Horseman because of its size and CQC-8 blade profile. The CQC-14 is an all-round winner in the EDC dept.

They are all "Titanium liner locks".....

The 10 is a great knife! I carry a 12 now for outdoors carry (Combat Karambit in town), but carried a 10 for years and the 7 for years before that. The 12 is expensive, so I think I would pick the 13 now if I wanted a less expensive one.

My first Emerson was a Mini CQC-7. Nice knife, but I got bit by the Framelock bug and now my EDC is the HD-7. If you like framelocks, I recommend the HD-7. If you have large hands, the CQC-12 might better suit you. Cheers.

My first EKI was the mini 7 too.
I carried that knife for years but now i will pretty much only have frame locks.
The 12 is the knife I carry most, I would carry the HD-7 more if it had an "A" blade, Im just not a big tanto fan.

My first was the Mini CQC-7. GREAT first emerson. I think that the Horseman or Mini-Commander would be good too.

One day, I'd like to get the 14 Snubby in satin finish.

Short enough to be legal, fast enough to be Emerson!
