We had a workshop out at Tom Ferry's place last weekend. Mike Vagnino came up from CA and showed us how to make a slip joint. Six of us took the class we all got it done. Most everyone use jib bone for the handle, I used camel. Mike is a very good teacher and now I will try it on my own. Thanks Mike and Tom for a great class.

Fit and construction look very strong. Very nice first effort.
When will we see one in Damascus? ;)

I envy you ! I,ve worked with slipjoints and lockback folders by trial an error.It sure would be great to have some one knowledgeable in they same room.

Off to a good start Dave. :thumbup: I can't get my head around grinding a blade that small.

I think that's a darn fine first folder. Are you going to bring it to Josh's so the folks there can get a look at it?

right on Dave!:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

I did a few slipjoints for some local guys a while back and I wanted to slit my wrists with them by the time I was done.

I've got to give major kudos to guys who do them and that one looks solid. You have a level of patience that I don't think I'll ever achieve.

Great first folder, beats the hell out of my first folder......:)

Way to go! Very nice for a first folder. Mine were fat and clunky when I started. It looks like you got to skip that awkward stage. Learning from a great craftman like Mike helps too.
Hey Erik, don't let those chubby fingers keep you from trying. You can do it!

Thanks everyone. Kevin I am working on that know. Keith I keep it with me I'll have it at Josh's. Roger it's all in how you hold it.
