Here are some pictures of a friction folder I made. It gave me some fits but I think it came out nicely in the end! The blade and spacer are forged O1 with brass liners and Cocobolo scales. All of the steel is blued. (Thanks again to Rob Simonich for the help with the finish on the Cocobolo!)

Nice job, you wouldn`t think that just a simple
knife design could give you any problems WRONG.
Kept up the good work
:)

Nice work guy! I love friction folders and that one is very purty. What did you use for a spacer?

Wow, thanks for the compliments! What a needed boost! Let me answer some questions and here are some pictures from the spine of the knife.

Richard, I used Birchwood Casey Cold Blue for the blade and fittings and followed the directions on the bottle. I did do at least two applications and after burnishing with 0000 steel wool I used Neatsfoot oil overnight for curing purposes (Neatsfoot oil just happened to be handy and I was in a rush to finish this knife and get it in the mail to it's owner.)

Peter, I cut the spacer out from the same O1 stock I used for the blade and then forged the accent on the end (this is where things started to go wrong, the whole spacer got bent and twisted while I was forging the accent and I had a devil of a time getting it back to the proper curve and flat again!).

Thanks again all! Guy Thomas
