Let me start by saying that I am not a photographer. Here are some pics of my first knife. It is 7.5 inches long. It's 440C and was heat treated by Paul Bos. It has a full hollow ground blade with nickel silver bolster. The handle is California buckeye. It has a hand rubbed mirror finish to 2000 grit. :)

Loos really good Nathan. I like the shape and it should make a very good hunter (even if it is made of Christmas steel).:D You should be proud.

Nathan, Thats a great first knife! Nice shape and finish. It is worth the wait. Good work.

I think the hardest part of the knife was the fit and finish on
the bolsters,I should have tried a little eaiser handle shape for my first one but I learned alot from learning as I go.I am working on one
know that has a big belly on it.I am bringing the grind around the
belly of the blade to the tip hard grind for a newbie but I am getting it,I will have to see how it turns out.;)

Nathan, nice knife! Your handle looks great and that's a serious looking blade. You went all out on this baby and it shows, thanks for sharing.

Nathan
You said it was a full hollow grind..
How thick and wide is the 440c you used and
the dia. of the grinding wheel you used on it?

Dan
To answer your question,I used 1/8 thick stock and it was the standered size 1 1/2 wide the blade at the widest point is a little over a 1 1/8 wide.I used an 8 inch wheel.the finger grove in the blade makes the blade look wider than it is really is.
Nathan;)

Hey, Bro!

So that's the piece you were working on, eh? Looks great! Glad to see you finish it out, man. You look like you have a real talent...
