First neck knife...

I've been out of things for awhile, so I decided to get back into practice with some stock removal. I made six of these blades, three with japanese heat treats.

Wicked....what are the dimensions? If that handle is very small, it may not be all that comfortable. What does it feel like in the hand? That's about all the negative criticism I can come up with.

I like the blade (a lot) and I like the handle. But they just don't seem to go together. With that blade/handle combo it would be difficult to tell the edge orientation without looking.
Really like that blade...looks wicked sharp.

yes the wharrencliff looks great and i like that full grind, but the handle may have some prob's, the radius of the curves going in to the profile of the handle doesn't look comfortable.

Thanks for the input so far.
It's 6" OAL, 3" blade. It is a tiny handle at 3", but the lanyard knot actually makes up for that partially. Hadn't considered the orientation aspect. Maybe some filework or notches on the spine/finger groove junction? Or I could round that a bit more? The handle wasn't comfortable to start with, but I rounded off the points at the finger groove junction and butt, and with the wrap it's secure and comfortable. I was going to do nylon originally, but the leather feels better.
It's 1095, brine quenched and tempered at 425f for 2-1/2 hours. Polished to 320 grit and buffed. I wasn't going to take it that high, considering the price that this was commissioned for ($75), but I didn't like how it felt at 220.
I was going to do a tight leather sheath with neodymium magnets to hold it in place. Has anyone tried this?

I really like it.
Especially as an "art" type knife.
It appeals to me a lot.
Has a gothic-esque look to it IMO, which I really like.

Making a few with more hand fitting handles for use and carry would be great but were I not broke, I would be after one just the way it is.

I like!

Ok, next batch will have more ergonomic handles, I was thinking around 1-1/2 inches longer to fit most hands. Probably a bit long for neck knives at that point, though.
I honestly like this handle shape, but it sounds like it would be best reserved for throwing knives, so I'll make some of those, too.
Thanks for all the great input!
