So I got my first Spydie for xmas back in 90 and have been carrying them ever since but yesterday I got my first SS clipit, a vg10 police. It is a truly sweet knife, big and flat and sharp with no blade play and very reassuring lock up. However the all stainless handle needs to have something done to it to subdue it a little bit, I feel like I am walking around with a mirror clipped to my pocket and a traction groove or 12 wouldn't hurt either. This knife is awesome but if the handle could be DLC coated or something similiar and some small traction ridges added, or at least thumb grooves it would be that much better. Of course tip up/down ambi with a wave would perfect the package. Hell, even bead blasting the handle would cut down on the shinyness and offer a bit of grip.
I love this knife but think it would be easy to make it that much better.
One of the things that kept me away from the SS models and police specifically for so long was seeing a photo in a gun mag of Massod Ayoob and the SS police in his pocket was super prominent despite the small black and white photo.

C'mon Sal, this is a classic that would come back with a fury with just a few minor improvements.

Hi There
The C07 is my favourite Spydie. Why not pick up one of the other versions from and auction site or dealer. The last of the G10 knives has it all, liners, flat ground blade and some even have a Boye Dent if that floats your boat. plenty of others to choose from too. CF, Aluminium, Tuffram, G10 and titanium. It would be nice to see a "new "Police but I'm not sure where Spyderco could go with the design.

Um, did you say titanium? Titanium police er was that a special down under release or something? Yeah I know there are a few versions, I even owned the cf one but I don't want to spend premium money for a collectible knife just to put it in mypocket and beat the hell out of it. I think maybe a new aluminum police would be the way. hard anodized super flat aluminum scalesthough certainly orange peel titanium would rock as well but I would think the aluminum would be quite reasonable to do pricewise.

Titanium was a part of the regular line up for a while, if you see a C07 with an ATS-34 blade then you have got one. A rework of the Aluminium idea sounds great, hard anodised in suitable colours.

I had always had my reservations about stainless handled knives until my friend Chad traded me a C-52 Calypso Jr. with AUS-8, hollow ground blade. It has the ideal size, shape and blade geometry. Another great candidate to bring back in ZDP-189. ;)
