Got my first few fish of the year. Finally, fishing! I brought the girl, as i got her into fishing last year and she loves it, more so when shes catching fish lol. As i'm sure some of you remember, i got my knife made in 01 with maple burl handles. I was wondering, how would it hold up to fishing use exclusevely, worst case scenerio. I mean not strictly a fishing knife, but if i were to bring it fishing and use it for anything and everything. Strictly freshwater, but with slime covered handles, rinsing it in the water and shaving sticks and such. I don't want to ruin the wood with the slime if it's irreversible besides sanding! I do have a frosts clipper i have in the box, but i'm kind of attached to my JK. Also, how will the leather hold up to water and dirt and stuff?
 
Keep wax on the handle, it should hold up fine. Try to keep the leather as dry as you can.
 
The girlfriend caught a 4lb largemouth today! She wants you guys to know shes not "fat" lol, she was wearing one of my shirts and it was windy today. She hooked it on a sunfish she caught before hand, and pulled the thing in! It was huuuuuuuge. First fish of the year.

Nice catch, on the fish as well as the girl. Can't go wrong with a girl that fishes.
 
Nice catch. I LOVE Bass fishing. You know the rule though right?
She catches a nice one so you have to buy her a nice new Rapala. Perhaps an Xrap perch colored ;)

I caught her a smaller sunfish n rigged it up for her. Then the thing smashed it because it was in distress. I get themon poppers, plastics, rapalas and so on.
