The question I have is in regards to making sure my knives get back here with me after flying from the US. On one occasion, I was able to carry a number of knives in my briefcase/carryon. On another, I had to check everything in, including an itty-bitty blade. I was almost arrested for a Benchmade Sentinel in Atlanta, yet, when I departed Dallas there was no difficulty (one note to those two "guards" in Atlanta, please, learn better English). As for flying internationally, I was able to "bag" what I wasn't allowed to carry on in Germany (they were bagged at the gate, and checked through to my destination).
The main reason I am asking is the upcoming Blade show in Atlanta. I want to be able to make the least amount of "enemies" flying back out of Atlanta with the knives I purchase at the show. I have had the unfortunate "luck" of having baggage getting lost (don't we all?) and don't want to go through that again (ever try to explain to an airline agency the value of a Kouji Hara custom knife? They believe that all knives are "cheap"!!!). I just want to be able to "glide" in and out with the least amount of problems as possible.
