I know a lot of you frequent other forums as well so forgive my redundant posting here.

Alright, this is the 4th sheath I've made, the first 3 being for fixed blade knives. This sheath I wanted to do a wet formed sandwich sheath for a folder. I don't have any nice folders so I made it for a cheap ka-bar sportsman's warehouse knife. Anyway, this was intended to be a practice sheath to try a couple things that would be new for me. First, the wet forming is a first for me and also this style of belt loop. The other "firsts" are in the finishing. I have heard a lot of people who use tandy edge kote and super sheen for finishing their knives, well I don't know how much I really dig it. The super sheen seems like it will be a great waterproofer but I don't like the feel of it. The edge kote is alright; I do like how it seals the edge. Anyway, I did this combination on purpose so I could see what I thought of the two products individually but on the same sheath.

So, what should I change? What can I do better? What should I try to forget and relearn? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Well, I won't be of much help because I know nothing about leather sheath making and I would never wear a folder in a sheath but I gotta say that looks like excellent work. I don't see a thing wrong with it other than a slight curve in the stitching in one place. Very nice!

Yeah, I got a little sloppy with my groover and also must not have been paying too close attention when I hit the sheath with the chuck of my drill press on the very last hole!

I say you've done a good, solid, clean job......I might think of getting the stitching a bit closer to the mold line. As the sheath breaks in, the pocket will loosen and there goes your retention.
Also, I would be inclined to have a border line along the top opening to give it more of a finished look.
See GG's tutorial where he covers both points: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=652682

I have never been a fan of Super Sheen as an overall finish. It seals off the pours of the leather and I believe the leather should always be allowed to breathe.

I like your sheath.

I'd say for the fourth sheath made its a fine looking job.....

I can take a hint... I just cut the holes to make some adjustments... ;) Updated pics will follow tomorrow (hopefully, depending on my mood after the Oregon/Ohio game).

Everybody in my part of the country thinks you will be in a very good mood.

Well, at the suggestion of many people that I should have stitched the sheath closer to the outline of the knife I made the following changes:
