Do you ever have problem recentering them?
Considering that the blade does not have blade rub, is there any other reason to keep it perfectly center besides aesthetics?
Also, if the two bearings does not have the same radius, would it affect how easily the blade centers?

As soon as I get a new blade I commit the most heinous crime known to warranties, I take apart my new acquisition:eek: . Now I wouldn't recommend this for everyone, but if your capable of doing your own basic home or auto repairs there's no reason you can't take apart your own knife. I mean if they didn't want you to take them apart they would have used rivets, they're cheaper, permanant, and faster,(no tapping holes). If you are so inclined to void your warranty and you have a hard time centering your blades:mad: , my suggestion would be to not completely tighten the liner screws until last after you center the blade, then you can adjust the pivot.

Best of luck.

Remember there are more dead people out there than living and their number is increasing.

I love my Sebenza because it is soooo easy to take apart and put back together the right way. The blade is always centered on that knife.

Yeah T.., I'm bitten by that "strip em' bug too.., not many knives I have haven't been taken apart the first day I have a chance.., but I do think it's reasonably easy with good tools...

depends on the company if you need extensive tools. I take my Spyderco Cricket(Tufram model) apart about every 2 weeks or so and clean it. Just need a phillips bit, and a pair of tweezers to adjust the washers(without removing the oil).

How do you adjust those washers to get it centered?
The thing is I can get it centered, but it would be much too loose.
any thoughts on the different size washers?

what do you mean 'centered'? The blade has no side to side play, and minimal up/down...

I field strip and clean in about 15minutes flat.

Sorry I meant what kind of adjustment on the washers that you make with the tweezers.
It still strikes me odd why the washers would be larger (in radius) on one side than the other side.

how about taking apart speed safe? any complications? and where is the screw to take apart a delica 2? is it under clip? im just warry of checking after tightening my chive a little too much...

I thought most spydercos are riveted together....
at least I've seen a couple where the pivot is a rivet (hey this rhymes) and it's probably quite hard to take apart.

I'll take apart my Chive Speed Safe later on today and post the pics, Personally unless your mechanically inclined I would stay away from the Chive.

I took my Chive apart. It wasn't that bad to get back together after looking at it for a few minutes and seeing how everything fit. The trick is in not overtightening them.

OTF's are a real SOB. I took apart one of 1SKS's Bargain OTF (Halo3 clone) for cleaning and inspection before giving it to the guy who had me order. It took me over half an hour trying to get the spring to stay down. I ended up getting a strip of paper to hold it down, then removing it after getting the handles together. I'm not even going to try taking my Dalton apart.
