IronWolf (aka Ken Nelson) may have some instructions for you. He is quite a talented blacksmith/bladesmith. Hopefully he will be by and see the thread. -Matt-

I used the video here to make a stainless steel rose for my gf for valentine's day last year, and this year I made a dozen of them from copper, much smaller ones though.

Most of the roses I make are stacked.

Each rose is made from four or five disks with a center hole drilled and the petals cut in. Five petals per disk. Or you could purchase a set of pre cut petals from Jerry Kirkpatrick Valley Forge and Welding. He offers them laser cut from 20 gauge sheet.

An excellent demonstration was done by Dorothy Steigler at the UMBA summer meeting several years ago. a video of it is avaliable through UMBA's library. the video is JE-1, the cost is $5 plus $2 for shipping. they will burn you a copy of the DVD, and mail it to you. the shipping is the same is you want one disk or seven.

there is also a rose making demonstration at www.anvilfire.com look in the Iforge demos.
This is a project that is hard to describe, but easy to show. If you are ever in WI, look me up.
