Jay Hayes is mentioned in many of the recent threads and is a great source. So great, I can't seem to find his address right now. We just ordered gauges, regulators from Jay. He offers a full line of pieces and parts. Gauge 0-30#, you will need a regulator that adjusts accurately, after that it kinda depends on what your hooking it up to. Will try to find Jay's Add. xmas4 something? Terry

Well, i know this will probably cause a lot of raised eye brows, but as to the fuel delivery system for my forge, i dont use any regulators. But wait i do have a metering system of sorts, i went to Lowes and bought two ball cock valves, made for fuel delivery, and some copper tubing. I came off my home supply tank (500 gal.)with one ball cock for complete shut off.

After entering the shop, close to the forge i installed the second ball cock. From this i went into a gas grill regulator, the non-adjustable type, again form Lowes. From there i went into my main supply pipe which goes directly into the forge. I connect the regulator to the main pipe via a 1/4 inch pipe nipple. No valves etc... I can control fuel flow at the the ball cock, from a roar that heats my shop pretty quickly to a whisper.

Just my way. Maybe it'll give you some ideas.

P.s. been operating about 9 months now with no problems.

Sms, actually you have regulator on the propane tank.

It would be a good idea to have one on your bottle.

On my forge I am using an old oxy/acetylene torch reuglator, (the fuel side) it is conneted to a piece of fuel gas quality hose,I use the regulator to set the propane at 4 to 10 psi depending on what I'm doing.

The gas is supply line is connected to a 8" long 1" pipe manifold via a gas quality needle valve. this is a venturi type forge

Do a search here for firebug to see a pic.

You can get the gas fittings at a propane store or a welding supply store.
