This was an exercise in patience. From the forging to the finishing, it was a slow process:) . This is the first forged CPM3-V blade I have made. Forging was very slow and had to be done at low temperature to prevent the steel from cracking. The blade measures 6" in length with the knife's overall length of 10 3/4". The handle is African Blackwood. The fittings are stainless, and feature 24k gold inlay and deep relief scroll engraving. The knife will take down by removing the finial.

I tested the knife on several trees and it performed like only 3-V can. From burying the tip and twisting out a plug of wood to choping and tourqueing the edge, it suffered no damage. The spine thickness is 3/16", so it is not excessively thick, and it balances on the index finger at the guard. I had to convince myself not to keep this one:p .

Price on this one is $675, with a sheath and shipping conUS.

Let me know what you think

Here is a close up of the engraving

BTW, I will be at the ABS hammer-in this weekend, but will have my cell phone with me. (903)746-0004

I like it a lot! I addition to the novelty of being forged CPM 3V, I like the clip point. It's a nice change from the typical drop point hunter that is so common.

bailey, very nice knife

what does forging a cpm metal do to the performance of the blade compared to the stock version?

How about an answer to the question why forge CPM3V and what are the advantages ?

Be well

I know this is the wrong place for this, but I would sure like to know more about your thoughts on forged 3V. I love this steel and would really like a bowie with a blade forged from it.
