Form follows function, you always hear that phrase batted around when it comes to motorcycles and knives.

When pertaining to knives, more specifically blade shape, and edge geometry, what is most efficient?

I would think a serrated recurve would a great slashing knife,

a Kukri a great lopper/chopper, with it's top heavy curved blade.

But what about the others? What makes your knife/EDC, the best at what it does?

Form follows function is a phrase which is often overlooked.

I think Spyderco makes great EDC knives, they don´t feature useless "gimmicks". For SD/light utility (no chopping), Spydies are top notch IMO.

My SAK Tinker is form and function in harmony. Clean elegant lines, easy on the eye yet this thing can do anything from dissemble my vaccuum cleaner, open packages, slice fruit, cut stray threads, etc.
