Hi everyone,

Blade Forums is the first and only forum I've registered to. So, I always thought that all forums would be the same.

Until last week when I went to a guitar site to get info on a certain guitar. Couldn't believe it! People were swearing at each other, dismissing everyone elses opinions, saying that one product was definitely better than the other without room for discussion, etc etc. Pages and pages of personal attacks on each other. You could not ask a genuine question without getting slammed from the regulars..whats the point of having the fourm? One guy even posted messages along the lines that 'newbies' should not be allowed to post, only long term members should.

It was a real eye opener, and it just made me realise what a good bunch we got here at BF. Intelligent and rational discussions...well done everyone.

Well ... courtesy is kind of a relative thing.

Head over to Whine & Cheese sometime... ;)

There's an old saying about guns making polite neighbors... Well, you can see why everyone here is so polite, folks like Mr. Rdangerer and Mr. Sharp Phil.

:D

I think maturity is way over rated.

Well, it could be tht everyone is carrying around "tools" on this forum. Hitting someone with a guitar could really mess up the instrument.

which guitar forum was that? i play, too

someone told me about a forum called Usual Suspects, said it was pretty good, too

i think maturity is nice

Definately!

I was looking recently for EMT type forums, and found one but couldn't believe how inane and neglected it was. Asking for the latest 25 threads brought up stuff from 2000. And 25% of those had subject lines like Free Viagra, SexKitten4U, Visit My Sexy Site, etc. etc.

It really makes you appreciate this place.

I dunno...Smack someone with an old (solid wood body) Fender Telecaster, and it's gotta hurt!

The guitar forum was guitar-guitar.com I think.

By the way, a tele would certainly hurt, but a decent blow with a Les Paul (made from solid mahagony) would not be easily ignored...

Jeeze, you go back a_ways. :)
Would that be the model with the double, gold plated, Humbunken pickups? (rats, I spelled that wrong).

Yes it was very solid and would hurt for sure :D
Rad

Ps played with a Les Paul, solid, in 75'. Totally solid, and heavy.
Gotta watch those guitar folks...they can be tempermental.:)
