Howdy There Folks...!
Have a question about fossilized Sea Cow bone. Do I need to seal the slabs before I start to buff them. I usaually seal bone slabs with super glue before buffing them to keep the compound out of the pores. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks......! "Possum"

Thomas, sealing does help, especially if you can see any porosity on the slabs you are working with.

porus? Pourus? Pour-us. Super glue will work externally, saturation in any of the wood sealing mediums will also prevent shrinkage, cracking and the heart break of (psyoriases). Let them sit for a spell after treatment. If these have come from the great white north, they will likely benefit from a stabelizing session. Seal, sele, ceal, seel them. Oh, just make sure they are dry stable and sealed against infiltration. Good luck. Terry
