I was wondering what the optimum bevel should be on the blade's
lock face. My handle stock is .125, 6/4 Ti, and blade is also
0.125. I did 4 knives @ 7.5 deg. and the lock seems to sieze
a little bit. The locking bar is 3" long and contacts about 1/8"
as described in Bob T's book. Any advice would be much
appreciated.
thanks,

Ditch, I've been doing mine at 7.5 degrees also. But what I do is cut the lock so the face is at 3 degrees or so. It gives a stronger lockup because more of the lockface is in contact with the tang. But it also is easier to disengage especially if you file it smooth too. Hope that helps!

Thanks for the advice, guys. Peter, is your video still
available? BTW, I'm in VT., would like to see your shop
sometime.
Thanks,
DITCH

Ditch, stop on by anytime. Just send me an email so I know you're coming. As for the video, you bet! :)
