Ummmm....what's up with the tip? Does it really have two grinds that don't meet, or did someone not read the Pen Photo help thread?

:p ;)

from the thread:

-------------------------------------

28" long, birds beak/tiger handle, 24" effective chopping edge, sharpened false edge, multiple hand hold positions.

and

These are not the final grinds as we will take them a bit further, heat treat, surface grind, and wet grind to finish. Once the grinds are finished, this bad boy will do everything that Chuck has designed it for.

Last time I checked a Tarwar was $195 to your door...this thing is running him, a guess on the other forum, $3400.
I would rather have the Tarwar and a good down payment on a new car.:o

Looks like it'll do some heavy duty work. Should outperform the tarwar which is really a sword but I doubt that it would fare well against a 25 inch AK.

Pen,

I have a bet as to the identity of the historical character pictured in your avatar. Care to mention who it is so I can win a free lunch?

I think my HI Falcata could do all that this beast could do, for A FRACTION of the price, and look better while doing it. I do like the slicer grind vs. the reinforced geind for the tip...More cash than I can get anytime soon.

Here's the story:

About 10 years ago, a few of my father's coworkers went to the Orient on job assignment. While at a restaurant, they saw a fabulous tapestry. The staff told them it was a family history. (Unfortunately, they didn't bother remembering whose family history). Well, the guy in my avatar was all over it. They had quite a chuckle because that's what my father looks like. :D So, they took pictures of it to bring home to him. (what are friends for, eh?:D) He scanned the picture in and sent it to me. I took the image and animated it and there you have it!

To the best of my judgment, it is Bodhidharma.

If your friend has imagery to prove otherwise, I would welcome it.

Can't afford the Busse. Guess the 25" AK will have to do! With all the emphasis on special steel and custom design these days it seems the the market goes to the gadget minded. The 25" AK or any other size works and works well.
