Gas regulator for forge?

Ok, I got my "Ron Reil" style burner built last night and hooked it up to my gas grill propane tank. Only problem seems to be that the regulator on my propane tank is at a fixed PSI rate and it's not pushing enough. What type of regulator do you guys recommend? I saw an adjustable regulator (big red thing, 2 screw in holes for fittings with a valve on top) at home depot for I think 30$. You think this would work or should I get something else? I think I just need a regulator that pushes more PSI than the 1PSI or so this gas grill regulator seems to be letting through...

Thanks,

Yes they are red. They have a place for a gauge and a big knob to ajust the pressure from 1-15 psi. Buy the gauge with it. Its handy to get consistant heats. I forge at about 2-3 psi and weld at 4-6 psi. Your results may vary depending on burner and/or blower. $30 aint bad one of mine was $58. Bruce

That is what you need. The grill type will not work - been there, done that. Jay Hayes also sells them but your Home Despot pricing sounds good.

You might try Harbor Freight and get a replacement acetylene regulator. I purchased one from them for the princely sum of $36.00 Not only do you have a regulator but the guage is big and easy to read.

Good luck what ever you do.
