Thanks for the update Darrel :) ..the all damascus one you are doing for me keeps me awake an extra hour every night...lol. Well worth waiting I'm sure...talk to you soon!

Having been lucky enough to see some of the unfinished ones, all I can say is...WOW! These are going to be the Rolexes of Balisongs. The prototype I handled was smooth as silk, and the most graceful knife I have handled in a very long time. Darrel tells me the post-prototypes will be even nicer!


I simply cannot wait.

Actually you are in a rather long line for this particular Balisong.., and there aren't really any "regular" ones so-to-speak :(

We've all been waiting a while for the Gemini, and the serial numbered ones are looooooong gone! I'd guess availablity after Darrel can catch up will be based on "demand"???

J, I believe that the gemini's are all sold out (it was a limited run of 50 - approx 25 numbered and 25 unnumbered) and they won't be made again. Darrel will, however, start on his custom balisongs after that, but the list is a loooong one. I'm hoping I get mine for *next* christmas. :)
 
Keep in mind that neither serial number nor order entry is any indication of order of delivery. Which pieces get delivered first will depend on materials availability, processes, and, quite frankly, Mr. Ralph's muse. Some of us may have another year to wait.

But, it is very exciting to hear that deliveries are finally going to begin.

there were only made 50 geminis? and there will be no more?

i'm comfused... is it possible to get a gemini or not? it's a gorgeous knife, and i'd love to have one! :)
 
Yes, only 25 with numbers, and 25 without. The Gemini Balisong is ONLY available through The Edge Equipment

After these 50 balisongs, Darrel will begin making custom balisongs. It is a little confusing because all Geminis are made by Darrel, but not all balisongs made by Darrel will be Geminis.

Another way to put it is this:

Edge Equipment contracted with Darrel to make these 50, which they (Edge Equipment) call "Gemini". I believe Mr. Gollnick http://www.balisongcollector.com/ assisted in the design of the knife; he even picked the name "Gemini".

Darrel has said that he will not make any non-Gemini balisongs until "Project Gemini" is complete.

As of three or four months ago, there were 2 or 3 Geminis still available. If I were you I would call Edge Equipment NOW!! You may not be too late.

Darrel is taking orders for his "after-Gemini" balisongs, the list is long, but I do not believe the wait will be too outrageous.
