Howdy There....!
Has everyone seen the article in the new Blade about Geno...! Happened to get one of his blades at the Southeastern. His work is unbeleivable. Such detail...check it out..!

"Possum":cool:

Well, that skunk didn't tell me anything about it!!!!! What is the issue? November? Dang it!

I have a new picture I need to post that you all might like. He also has some new things in the works. I will be updating the web site as soon as I get a chance. For those who don't know it, his web site is www.cavemanengineering.com. Check it out.

I will have to agree with your sentiment: he does some very fine work...especially for the prices.

There is a New Design of Geno's on Les Robertson's website that I LUVVV!! It's called the Caribou and it looks GREAT!!

Geno is a wonderful Maker and does an absolutely remarkable job on each and every one of his knives, he is definately his own worst critic and won't let a knife leave his shop that has a flaw. Great Knives and a Great Maker!

Wow, those prices on that website look pretty darn reasonable (read inexpensive) for the quality of the knives. I have heard that Geno makes some great knives, but have not really looked at his work before. I am going to have to take a look at that article as soon as the new Blade arrives in Canada. It is usually about a week after it is out in the U.S..

One of the biggest regrets I have in selling knives is a Little C from Geno with stag that I sold(I believe Nakano2 bought it from the guy I sold it to). Geno's work is flawless.
Dave

You listening Nakano2?

The first handmade knife I bought was a Denning #6 in stag from Les Robertson. I ordered it before I even saw a picture of it because Les said "You're going to love it." Les was right. I had first heard about GenO's work from Para and Senator here on the Forums. I haven't seen the Blade article yet, but I do know that GenO learned from Mr. George Herron and that says a lot. I have a boot knife on the way from another of Mr. Herron's associates, Bobby Branton. Bobby told me he showed my knife to George and it passed his inspection, needless to say it should pass mine as well. ;)

I met GenO at Blade show, his work is great, and he's quite a character. I know there are other Denning knives in my future. If any of you are thinking about buying one of his knives, but you're hesitating for one reason or another, my advice would be don't wait. You're going to be very impressed.

Anytime you can get a knife from a maker that has a working relationship with one of the Masters, (GenO & George, Mike Obenauf & Kit Carson, Bill Burke & Ed Fowler, etc.) my suggesttion would be to jump all over them. You're looking at the future Masters, whose work will only go up in value, and will only get harder to get.

Possom, My Blade has not come yet, good to hear that he is in this issue. Geno's knives are exceptional!

Hi all and thanks for the kind words. Glad so many like them as much as I like makeing them. And I got some new ones in the works and on the way. One is a neck knife collaboration with sombody yall know, more when it gets closer. Thanks GenO

GenO is too modest to mention this..
but he will be featured on two "World
of Ducks Unlimited" radio broadcasts
during November...(heard on over 300 stations).
Both segments will feature GenO giving
advise on selecting a working knife.

Negative Lifter. But e mail me the persons name who bought it from you. And I will see if I can get it back for you! :D

Nakano

It's a good thing he'll be on the radio, cuz he ain't the purtiest thing around... :D :p

GenO is one of the coolest and nicest knifemakers I have ever had the pleasure of talking to and doing business with. I have a matching set of knives from him with the same box elder for handles in both. One is his #3 prototype interframe folder, the other is a Chute knife. Both are outstanding, you just cannot go wrong with the guys work, dedication, etc. I have another knife on order that is coming up sometime, gotta get GenO some handle material for it. And guys, don't forget GenO's wonderful wife, Cindy. She does lots of work around the shop and helps out in the making of those "flawless" blades. They are both near and dear to me (or as "near and dear" as one can be living 5000 miles away).

Love ya GenO and Cindy, take care!

BTW - here's a pic of the model that was reviewed in Blade this month. The author had it listed as model Y2K1 I believe, but it's actually called a Black Widow. Y2K would represent the year in which that particular knife was made.

With a tapered tang, micarta handles, and a double micarta guard, this thing is extremely light at about 3.7 oz. I love the design.

Nice of you guys to share...I haven't seen much of Geno's work...REALLY NICE...very reasonable I'd say!

I thought it was a very good review of a well designed knife. I don't think you can say enough good things about GenO's work.

For some reason the second picture of GenO really frightens me.
;)

The second photo is actually member Brian Caffrey in disguise! He tried this same stunt in the infamous "Rosta- Frei steel is #1..." thread in the General Knife Discussion forum. Do a search.

Nakano

NO Nakano 2, I can spot that bearded beauty in a field of barnyard animals includeing old goats any day!!! And to think he's mine-All mine!! signed the Cavelady:D

Hey Cavelady...I want to know why he's standing in the barnyard and not grinding knives? He's a hard one to keep track of. ;)
