I am not particularly knowledgeable about knives so I'd really appreciate any feedback you experts may provide.

I am looking for is a 4 1/2" or less closed length folder with the ability to hone the blade scarry sharp more important then it's durability.

Something a bit more gentlemanly then let's say a MT LCC/Benchmade Pradue folder yet more agressive then a CR Mnandi/WH Lancet or Spearpoint ... with a dash of Spyderco Delica/Native.

I'm not sure exactly what I am looking ... I haven't seen it in the mainstream ... but I know I will know it when I see and hold it ... any suggestions really appreciated.

There is no specific use ... rather but a 'need' ... :)

Thanks for any help.

Boker infinity is a really nice knife. If you wont be using this to chop wood and whatnot, itll last you years with no problems. Its a 3.5 inch blade I believe, somewhat tactical but a very smooth look. The cool thing about this knife is its made out of a ceramic blade. So that edge will be VERY sharp. They cost 100 bucks. Benchmade makes some somewhat gentleman folders as well. Welcome to the forums :D I live on the north shore but I know what long beach is like. Nothing beats marvel

thats the boker infinity

The Böker Infinity definitely looks great and I always wanted to try a ceramic blade, but Böker's liner locks are reportedly weak, so I'm hesitatant to buy one.

A few suggestions:

Benchmade 940.
Spyderco large Calypso (discontinued model with a micarta handle).
Spyderco Vesuvius.
Spyderco Lum Chinese (green or gun-metal blue).
Spyderco Herbst.
Spyderco Carbon Fiber Police.

Good luck,
Allen.
