I was scoping this knife on the net and liked the looks of it.I was looking for some feedback from any users/owners who have this knife.I was thinking of it as my EDC/SelDefense knife.Any comments?

The Camillus CQB is worth consideration as well. Personally, I like the feel in the hand better and the overall lines.

The Yari is a good knife too.

Ive got both of the above knives and like them both a lot.

THe Yari was cheaper would be more utilitarian and is a little smaller in all dimensions.
I think it would be more concealable and would be an excellent defensive blade, a great utility blade, and a good choice for EDC.
It is my designated beater knife but so far I haven't done too much to it.
Cuts cheese well and does good food prep,

I like the sheath and it carries well in SOB or as a frequently carry it under belt in front of my hip when I may use it a lot.
For the money its a winner.
The Camillus seems a little more of a fighter to me. But its pretty damn cool as well. The Yari feels like its little brother in a way that the CQB2 doesn't quite fit.

The Yari is very good cutter with pretty thin edge and very high, almost full blade width, flat grind. Made of decent materials, attractively priced. Comfortable to handle too. In my opinion it is one of the most useful designs among so-called tactical fixed blades. Something onto tactical kitchen knife side...

Definitely not the best sheath. In fact the sheath as itself is good, GERBER have screwed up it’s carry system replacing the Tek-Lok multi-carry clip (what was intended initially) with primitive inside the waistband only solidly mounted clip, probably for cost reducing purposes. However don’t worry, you always can buy Tek-Lok clip separately and add it to the sheath.

Please look here for more my impressions on this piece. Disclaimer: I’m not responsible for poor picture quality! I did my job decently, the pictures were screwed up by on-line magazine’s folks.

I saw the YARI for the first time today and was grabbed by it. I need one and don't know why. This forum does not help. Looks like a good EDC with fighting capabilities.
