Finally getting the lines i want on W2. Have to apply the clay a bit differently, alter the soak temp. a bit, and be sure your quinch oil is at optimum temp. for "speed". Anyhow, here is one that I made this week after a quick polish. Sorry about the photography skills, there is more activity there but I just cant capture it in the photo.

Started out as a piece of 3.5" x 1.25" piece of W2 round bar from Don Hanson. Blade deminsions are 10-3/4" x 2" x 1/4"+ at ricasso.

Killer line, Matt. One of the best I've seen

W2 is a different animal but has the best hamon potential of any steel out there.

thanks all!! Roger, this one is getting Curly Maple or Walnut... but I do still have that stag carver set aside for you... Will probably something with a bit longer clip for that one.

Well, I feel safe in predicting that someone will be VERY happy with that one. :)

By George, I think he's got it! The W2 is workin' well it seems, Matt. Great looking blade. Smokin' hamon!

Wow!!! That is amazing. Now the bad news. You have to tell us HOW you applied the clay to get that line:D
