I am considering the GG&G Battle Hawk as my first hawk. Does anyone have any experience with this hawk? Is it worth the money?

I have never held one. I don't believe that it is worth the money. The edge geometry SUCKS. You could buy 2 hawks from any given company for the same price as the GG&G hawk.

If you get this hawk...

be sure to get this knife to go with it.

That way you'll be doubly set with the "great bar fight deterrent in exotic third world locales". Like the Klingon home world for instance.

Seriously though, the GG&G hawk, like the DarkOps knife, looks like it's been way over stylized to be tacticool rather than functional.

It's a breaching tool first, weapon second.
If you want a tool for the woods you want something else.
If you're doing drug raids for the DEA it's perfect.

It looks like there is a lot of wasted weight on it, like the extra point under the spike and the overly large flares on the haft. At the same time they did a cut-out on the blade, presumably to conserve weight, but would also have the effect of making a place to lose energy when trying to chop with it and getting it stuck-unstuck.

LOL. That knife is SWEEEET!

That right there is the funniest shit I've heard in a long long time. Kudos to you sir. :D
