Ginunting Sources?

Alright everybody, I have a favor to ask all of you. I know many people here have an extensive FMA background, and have far more ties to the FMA community than I could ever possibly have, and probably have a huge library of FMA sources because of it, so I figured you guys would be the best place to turn to for this particular dilemma. So here’s the case.

I have an old friend studying overseas in England for a masters in History. He has been writing a 2 year + case study about the arms and armor coming out of Asia since the Song dynasty in China. He is currently explaining how the Filipino Marines carry the Ginunting and how they use it. However, therein lies the problem. He is not a martial artist and has no real idea in how they actually use it. I was hoping to send him a tape or book on the history, use, and techniques of the Ginunting seeing how I cannot actually show him myself. Any help or any sources for this particular case will be most helpful and will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Apart from the excellent Pekiti Tirsia references above, any of the YouTube clips available on-line showing Pekiti Tirsia will give him a general reference for the use of bladed weaponry in Pekiti Tirsia Kali. Keep in mind that the stick is generally considered a training surrogate for the sword. For example:

These clips feature a different weapon design but are also representative of what you can do with a ginunting:

Best,

Thanks everybody, he really liked the clips on youtube where they talked about the history of the weapons and how the ginunting is in conflict with the barong right now. Hopefully he has enough now.

Thanks again.
