GODSPEED! BK14 Kydex Sheath Photo Review (Contest Prize) Pic Heavy

First of all, a big thanks to Eli (aka GODSPEED!) for putting on the contest. Very much appreciated! The sheath arrived very quickly, but today was the first chance I've had to take pictures with any kind of good lighting.

With my choice of prize, I chose the pancake sheath in OD green with black back. Eli was cool enough to include the kydex mini-Bic attachment as well (more on that below).

I had already ordered the BK14 scales and they arrived at almost the same time. The orange scales look awesome with the OD green, if I do say so myself :D Now for mini-bic attachment.......

Hmmmm........

Woops, looks like I've got a weird size mini-bic..... probably since it's the button operated version instead of the wheel. I'll have to find the regular size sometime.

Now, knife in sheath, sans mini-bic...

Side view. Even with a mini tek-lok it's a fairly thin profile.

Stock sheath for reference.....

Thoughts

1. This sheath is awesome. Reeally liking it so far.
2. Fit and finish is flawless. No sharp edges, corners, etc...
3. Lockup is excellent. The knife's not going anywhere, but I can still easily draw the knife with one hand using my thumb to push against the sheath. Zero rattle.
4. Even though the overall size is about the same as the stock sheath, it feels more streamlined and less awkward (probably because the fit is better.

Bottom line, I'm really impressed with the sheath and won't hesitate to go to GODSPEED! in the future.

Hope you all enjoyed.

He makes good stuff. I think he was abducted by aliens though....or got sucked into a black hole.

Cool I was talking to him about a very similar set up for a Bk14. But going to pass for now so I can get a Baldric set up for a Bk9/Bk14/ESEE Pack for camping. Might switch the Bk14 to a Bk16 Tweener if he has that option available.

Nice pics and thanks for reviewing the sheath... I'm glad you like it too. Bummer on the Bic... I haven't even seen one that size. Here's what it looks like with a "regular?" Mini-Bic:

C_Tanner, I'm back. I'll find and re-send that email I had for ya. My shop is like a black hole though....lol.

Wuhungsix, Definitely have the BK16 situation under control! And just made a full-sized lighter attachment for one. Pics:

Excellent work on those, Eli. The black kydex with orange rivets is calling my name.
