Anyone have a going rate for this discontinued piece? Haven't seen any on eBay recently. I should have never traded mine. :(

The last one I seen on Ebay went for $110. I just sold one to a BF Forum Brother for $100 even. If you want one I wouldn't dilly dally :o If you want one to use I wouldn't get the black blade. I would only use the black blade to collect.

Being the new Perrin is about to hit the market the old one will surely go up significantly.

I am curious? What draws you to the older Perrin?

Thanks for the insight into the price; glad it hasn't gone up significantly!

I like(d) the older model a lot because of the blade profile, deep choil, and general ergonomics & weight. It made for a perfect utility knife for camping, hiking, yard work, and was easily concealable (if need be). Plus I'm a sucker for bowie style/modified clip-point knives. :o I'm really surprised that it didn't sell very well, considering the street price of about $85 that it was selling for. That's not to say that I don't have the newer Street Beat on order. ;)

I think that enthusiasts, collectors and users alike are just now seeing the light as far as the Spyderco fixed blade models are concerned. Personally I never got a fixed blade Temperance until they announced them to be discontinued :o

What an extremely pleasant surprise that was. Also the fixed blade LUM was one that they passed by. If they would do another run of them in either VG-10 blade steel or at least something better than AUS-8 I would be all over one to carry. I may even do it anyway.

The Ronin is another jewell that most Spyder-heads are now finding out is an awesome blade. It is truly taking the knife community a lot of time to recognize the super potential that Spyderco fixed blades have. Stock up on them while you can. In another year or so the FB-04 Perrin will be the object of bid wars on Ebay and elswhere.
