Olight's SR9x lights have been my favorite big and bright lights since the series was created a couple of years ago. The original, the SR90, has always been the most popular and well as the best performer in terms of throw, so I have been hankering for an upgrade to that for a while now.
Thankfully, Olight wanted an upgrade as well, so they created the SR95. The SR95 is smaller, lighter, brighter, and has longer runtime than the SR90. The SR90 always had kind of a big head, so they reduced the size of the head on the SR95 and cut quite a bit of weight by the size reduction as well as hollowing out the head. The hollowing also increases the head's surface area, meaning that it has a lot of area for dissipating the intense heat created by the Lumnius SST-90 LED's 2000 out the front lumens. Throw on the SR95 is rated at 720 meters.
Olight also increased the size of the side button, making it very easy to operate, even with gloved hands. The battery pack received an improvement as well with an increase in the capacity.
Olight has also released a special edition, the SR95UT. The SR95UT takes all the same features of the SR95 except it uses a Luminus SBT-90 LED instead of the SST-90. The SBT-90 reduces the lumens to 1050, but the throw is increased to 820 meters, which is ridiculous for a handheld production light. Please keep in mind that the SR95UT is a limited edition light and will not be available for long. Olight limited production of the SR95UT to 240 units worldwide.
