Hey folks,

New member here. I just bought my first Spyderco today...a Scorpius. It should arrive in a few days. I have a Benchmade 880BT and also a good old Victorinox Swiss Army knife. I really like BM knives but never tried a Spydie so I figured I'd give it a shot.

Some of the guys at the BM forum also said this was a good place to hang out (I post at the BM forums too).

Hope I'm not doing the wrong thing by posting an introduction. I just wanted to say hi. Glad to be here :)

Cheers,
Fisher of Men

Fisher of Men...Welcome to BladeForums! I'm also a "regular" over at The Benchmade Forums, and I carry a couple of Benchmades as my EDC's (805s and a 721s).

As far as Spydies go, I'm not a big fan of the knives anymore, (as I prefer the Axis-lock, G-10 scales, dual thumb-studs, and the ambidextriousness of Benchmade folders), but the Spyderco 302 series of 8" Benchstones are totally awesome!

welcome

Mainly I carry a benchmade 710 plain edge satan finish (yes you heard right) i aslo have a calypso Jr. frn vg-10. a spyderco rescue. handfull of saks benchmade nimravus cub (spelling)

i don't get it. mine has a satin-finish. it's quite nice, i carry it off-work as my EDC (806d2 at work).

welcome to the forums, from a semi-new person myself. I, like the others, also carry benchmades though the redline is all thats in my budget.... but theyre great cutters too. my favorite edc is my Schrade 8OT and i hope i dont lose it because i cant replace it (weeps like a little girl). :grumpy:

welcome. you'll find this forum very useful and knowledgeable, and most importantly, civil and troll-free.

Welcome, FoM, we're always glad to have a friendly, new face 'round here. As a fellow "fish", I welcome you :)

Hi! Fisher of Men! I think the Vatican is looking for you. Just joking. :D

See ya around. :) :)

Thanks for all the replies.

Hey glockman99. Good to see you over here too.

Thanks everyone for the welcome!

Cheers,
Fisher of Men :D

Welcome Fisher of Men, I just posted for the first time yesterday so it's nice to see someone else new post on this fine forum as well. How do you like your BM 880BT? I've got a satin finished, 880 Dark Star and I've found it to be an excellent knife.

Welcome! Always glad to see new blood. It's great here, almost as addicting as our knives themselves.

Hey,

To answer your question I love the 880BT. It's just too big for an EDC since I work in an office :)

I love the BT coating on knife blades. It's been holding up well too.

Cheers,
Fisher of Men :)
